National Minimum Wage

From 1 October 2007 the National Minimum Wage will increase.

  • The adult rate (for workers aged 22 and over) will increase to £5.52 per hour.
  • The development rate for 18-21 year olds will increase to £4.60 per hour.
  • The development rate for 16-17 year olds will increase to £3.40 per hour.

One piece of important information to take note of is that the accommodation offset will increase to £30.10 per week (£4.30 per day). It is not legal to deduct any more than this amount from an individual's wages for accommodation if they are paid the minimum wage.

This is a fast moving and complex area of legislation. 7Y are fully conversant and compliant with the latest legislation. Call us for more information
