Leominster-based 7Y take up "toe tickling" to beat workplace stress
Employees at the Leominster-based rural business services company, 7Y Services Ltd, were "tickling their toes" last week in support of National Stress Awareness Day.
The nationwide event which took place on 7th November was the culmination of the year-long "Smile Stress Away" campaign, created to encourage a more positive and proactive approach to managing stress in the workplace.
All staff members took part in a range of massage therapies provided by local therapist Jane Griffiths of Karma Touch, including reflexology, or "toe tickling" as the treatment has been dubbed by staff!
7Y's workplace health and safety expert Emma Righton-Corrick explained the company's support for the event, "As a consultant, my job is to advise employers on how to safeguard their employees and, whilst clients readily identify the physical risks of the workplace, the vast majority underestimate their legal obligation to manage workplace stress.
"We have, of course, undertaken our own stress hazard audit here at 7Y and whilst it showed that we're generally a pretty happy bunch, it did identify a few areas for improvement hence the implementation of our massage therapy programme."
